Leading to a broken heart, we were drifting...

Leading to a broken heart, we were drifting...

A Poem by Sibusiso Xtdo Gama

We are the flora.

Pals are the litho and the reapers.

Your heart is a core that would not open to any tour.

Every time the flora tries to grow the litho keeps on expanding and shrinking

Each time leaving our roots exposed, to whatever that looks to end us,

Every time the flora tries to bloom they come and reap before it even blossoms

There is a combination of factors that leads to malfunctioning,

Of this relationship, with your heart included

In this relationship

Your heart is a core it can no longer love  again

At least not until it heals,

I always thought love is plain, I was insane.

“From a relationship you don’t just jump to another one “you said.

At least not this one

Each day I loved you more than yesterday, but less than tomorrow

And you tell me that, each day you drifted away from me because you wanted to heal

I didn’t know that for a heart to heal it should be at the expense of breaking another,

But I know that, I said I wanted to be there when you heal,

At some point it felt real, to be there when you heal

And you say it’s for the best for both of us, that we break up.

My heart was so exposed to you such that I didn’t even see you drifting away.

But I guess this is the way,

With my broken heart I will walk away,

Up and down I will sway,

My heart to a healing bay and stay

Until I can deal with this pain,

Which showered me like rain.

I always thought love was plain, but now I’m in pain.

Now I see that we were drifting,

Yes away from me, you were drifting.

Yes towards you, I was drifting.

When we were kissing at the stir case, we were drifting,

Fantasizing about how our kids would be affect by the fact that you are a psychologist,we were drifting.

Only I was drifting towards you while you were drifting away, but we were drifting

Now from this chess board, I have empty holes,

With all the pones surrounding me, there’s something missing

There would be no King without a Queen.

How could my broken heart be my check mate?
