Mud

Mud

A Poem by Xuru

I don't recognize my own voice, the lump in my throat grows.
My spine curves to the sharp bends in the road.

Dead end.

She won't love me forever.

It's as long as it needs to be.

Thank you for the read.
There is an ambiguity here I like. That last line has lots of meanings.

Interpret away my friend.
This really grabs the reader and shakes their rationale, great imagery and metaphor...

Thank you so much Poppy.

Your words are always appreciated.
Such an interesting piece. The realization that you, yourself may not love another long term, but to see thru to the other side that the others love will not last...gut wrenching.
Reminds me of something I heard a friend say once about his then girlfriend...he said, 'I'm going to miss her when she's gone.'
The visual is great and the title is fitting. Being stuck in the 'mud' literally...
Well done!

Xuru,
Reality is a double sharp sword. Its pain can last a life time. Well written.

Too true Richie.
"I write what I know."

So all you know is pain and ending love?
