Why I Didn't Leave a Review

This doesn't go for anybody specific.

I can read your poem once,

And marvel at your pretty words.

 

I can read your poem twice,

To actually try and grasp your (probably) deep meaning.

 

I can read your poem thrice,

Because silly little me doesn't know still.

 

I can read your poem four times--

But that's it. I still don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Lol. I've had this happen a few times when the person didn't leave an author note or anything, that's why I always try to include part of a background story. Some say I say too much but I'd rather have that than nothing at all I guess. It's good to be descriptive to let someone in when the ultimate goal is to gain a support system. Doesn't it just get annoying too when you even message the person and they still can't come up with an explanation to the poem for you? I've also encountered that and to me I'm stunned because here I am thinking this person must be so deep and intellectual about life and it's like none of it was real.

Well done spelling this out. I'm sure it happens on my poems all the time. Good thing I don't care much about reviews I guess. I hope that people read into it what they want and not what I intended. But I know that many would rather people just make their writing crystal clear. Yours certainly is.

THAT is soooo damn true... I read a work aloud three times... and with purpose for each. I really have to WANT to to do it a fourth.

i hate it when that happens. i understand every word and phrase, admire the way they're strung together, but somehow my brain can't connect with what the writer was trying to say. it happens all the time here. i'm glad it's not just me.

This was good. When you come across pieces that just don't make sense. Just copy and paste this in as a review. It's not in anyway shape or form negative, and it gets the point across that you just don't understand what the poet is trying to get through. No harm in being honest.

haha! I love it XD and I do that many times with some pepople.
I don't want to leave some stupid review and have them say ' no no! that's not what I'm going for!'
