Held Captive

Held Captive

A Poem by Zachary J nelson

Chained, to a steal rod.

Not knowing, how I got there.

Pain coming from the metal pinching my skin.

I don’t deserve this, to be chained here.

I was going to Willie’s a fast food restaurant,

But somehow I got here. Chained to a steal rod.

I was held captive chained to a steal rod,

I begged and pleaded for the three people to let me go,

I begged and pleaded for forgiveness.

My body giving up its fight to stay alive, my muscles deteriorating.

My breathing growing more rapid, I may not make it through the night.

How do I escape this living nightmare?

My life was coming to an end. I felt my lungs burning,

As I gasped for air.

My lungs felt like they were on fire.

I was chained, to a steal rod with no way out.

You write interesting poetry sir. I like it. Sometimes it get a little hard to read because for a couple of lines you'll get into a good flow and then the flow will change suddenly for a line or 2 so I have to go back and re-read it to have it sound right.
But otherwise it was a good read! I enjoy your work!
