Mangled Heart

Mangled Heart

A Poem by ZDMusgrove
"

I know how you beastlies love a good tragedy, so here is a poem to quench your hunger for tragedy.

"
I let my heart loose
And it came back mangled by the beasts.
There was not a single chance it would survive.
It was innocent and untouched
Just like how they love their prey.
All it tried to give was kindness and love,
But in return for its efforts it received grief and hate.
It is no wonder I world is falling apart
Since they let those horribly ugly beasts roam the streets
Just waiting to rip the innocent apart.
I tried to let my heart guide me to happiness,
But there is no utopia called Love
Just a dark and empty world full of monsters.
So hide your precious heart
Or watch it fall prey to the monstrosities of humanity,
The ones who have no remorse for causing pain.
So hide your heart.
Let it not fall into the pit,
And bleed out its innocence,
But let it stay safe from the world
In a nice warm place,
Where no beast can get it.
