"It is harmless"

A Poem by Zack Burton

Poem #33. Uploaded Friday November 26, 2:38 PM. From "Poetry Collection 1."

"
It is harmless
It is average
It is chemistry
And it is morning
I take my seat
He takes his seat
She takes her seat
It is done
We begin
We work
We end the day
The acid slips
The blindness
The foolishness
The sandal
Uncovered toes
Discomfort
Suffering
All short-lived
The screams
I look
He looks
We look
We wonder
We are afraid
We all want it
We all need it
The pain
We want to help
We all rethink
We sit down
Ignoring
The screams
From the back of the room
But we are listening
This is learning
The acid slips
The screams
Suddenly flesh disappears
Suddenly flesh disappears
