"Call"

"Call"

A Poem by Zack Burton
"

Poem #36. For Weird Writers Prompt 19.

"
Call
Call me
Break my back with lightning force
They said
They all scream
But God, I swear
I swear to God
I moved
I flinched my arm with fraction speed
And leather ripped
And pigs belched
Mouths on the stitches
Graciously
Pleadingly
Screams the ball so oblong brown
Hurt me
Never
Put me down
The flight of fear and things unknown
Always turn my gut around
Before this
I knew
Never I knew
What violent shock the ball it took
So I took my life
Rather than tell my dad
Who'd kill me
For quitting ball
