Paper Heart

He turns my heart to paper,
The words I write shall never be enough,
Expressions, of myself, my feelings,
Grief that he shall never look my way,
Silently hoping, wishing he would glance in my direction,
Dreaming, of his smile, the way his eyes light up,
Admiring from a distance, close but hidden,
In the shadows, silent, waiting, knowing,
He will know.
And when he does my paper heart will become real again.
