I AM

As I lay me down to sleep, I know god watches as i weep.

I am a walking breathing tragedy

Badly Bruised By this reality

 An overlooked mis-fit in humanity

and on the cusp of enternal insanity

 I am wild heart chasing hopeless dreams

a vicious fire itching to be free

 a lonely traveler laced in mystery

 a tarnished rose with a lethal sting

A lover of peace in ages of war

with hidden demons in his stock and store

a nasty tale of forbidden lore

still waters run deep into this core

Caged between the Devil and the deep blue sea

I am the quiet lotus adrift endlessly

Leeched to my desires so desperately

Floating on these dreams quite frivolously

 I know misery and i know pain

 I fight this battle, though i've yet to wane

doomed to wonder this desolate plain

I am the tortured soul forever playing in the rain.
