"Caricature of the Crusty Loner"

"Caricature of the Crusty Loner"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

"Caricature of the Crusty Loner"

His face might be wrinkled, molded, and blackened by his past.

His hands might be gnarled by his urge to cling onto his lifespan.

His feet might be broken and crippling by the years he’s had to walk, run, and wade through.

His heart might be slower and out of sync because of the heart-racing events he’s panicked through.

His brain might be shrinking and deteriorating by the many puzzles and riddles that have challenged him.

Know not of him physically,

Know of his intent,

Expect his desire,

Fight his will.

He intends misery,

He desires pain,

He will destroy.

Society has ignored him,

Thrown him around,

Disconnected his umbilical cord of his joyous life.

His need for nourishment is parasitic.

It is best to let him wither away,

For he is nothing but the surviving dust particles from his hatefully stereotypical era.

You need not to fear him,

For he fears the ever-lasting pain of isolation.
