Wonder

Wonder

A Poem by Zoe Kaufhold
"

Just a few thoughts that run through my head, some may relate.

"
Sometimes I sit here and wonder why i'm alive.
I wonder why I continue to live my pitiful existence.
Some say there is a purpose of me being here but the only purpose I can think of is to reproduce.
That's what we were made for isn't it?
To continue our family name and make more humans so our species wont die out.
For the people that don't want to reproduce what is their purpose?
in the end we all die anyway.
in the end we will not matter, yeah we may make a small mark on the world.
Einstein made a dent, Washington made a dent, Rosa parks made a dent.
They all made huge dents in our current lives that changed everything but what about me?
what about the people that wont make a dent, wont make a change to future lives.
There is no huge reason for me to be here, yet i continue to go on.

in the long run.... I wont matter.

You've made some big circles on the pond of life with this piece.....

But, also consider your current stage in life....the last thing most teens think of is procreation, so be careful to adopt a lifetime view while you are living zoomed into your current worldview.

And you will matter. Feeling that you won't is quite normal. We don't all have to find out how the world turns, or make it turn better - just making the best of life and trying to not fall down too much is half the battle won. :)

Great writing. Expanding this could easily lead to the birth of a short story - pardon the pun :P
