The Charade of Innocence

The Charade of Innocence

A Poem by None

You squirm in the darkness
Fear the shadows.
I dwell within them
Watching.

You look straight at me,
Through me,
Towards the light.
Blind.

I snigger silently,
Rustle quietly
You shudder, cold,
Afraid.

You would never guess,
Could never see,
your death, caused by
Me.

And he,
who said I was the innocent one.

Is but a fool.

Haunting and powerful. Nicely paced.

This is very compact and no words are wasted. That's very difficult to manage.
