Sonnet 3: Walls once broken, now too high to see o'er

"

“You’re too young to have regret”,

a common utterance among those who have no understanding.

Age is of no concern if a person runs into their Juliet,

and can’t give what she’s demanding.


In regards to her I regret more than you could imagine,

Everything about her seemingly perfect,

My safe zone I had to abandon.

With her gone now I’m forced to reflect.


But in this reflection comes growth,

Seeing your broken self peer back is crushing.

Applying what I had learned as if I were Goethe,

I thought I’d once again be trusting.


And Again my confidence was destroyed,

Her love for me no longer employed.
