You have a smile that can’t
be captured, aware
it becomes guarded
but
in the safety of us
its light is enough
to draw me up
forever
hoping to see it again
see you looking
at me, and smiling
eyes glowing with laughter
turning your face to angel
wild man.
You cannot be brought
You do not bow to injustice or
power, just because it
Is. You form your own judgements.
The love and truth sings so loudly
blows bounce off you, nearly
And I will be here to hold you

We are safe. And in the warmth and darkness
our future formed kicks and grows

the fleeting smile of one who is so guarded because of so much past hurt...

i like the speaker's plea...in the "us" you are safe, we can show each other the smile...and no harm will come...love can break down the walls.
