Why?

Why do we stay silent when it hurts?

Why don't we open our hearts

Say what's been hurt

Use the voice

We've been given

State the truth

And keep on going?

 

 

Why can't we look a problem head-on

Tell it what we've done wrong

Fix it fast before it grows

Make it shrink

So we can just move on?

I think it's pride... that or shame. We really are our own worst enemies. Always sabotaging what could be great. Making things harder for ourselves, anything to hide away our weaknesses.

Nice job! I like it, it has good flow and the meaning is expressed clearly. The two stanzas don't have very much to do with each other, but I can see why you put them in the same poem. Overall, I really liked it!
