The Memories Long Forgotten

The Memories Long Forgotten

A Poem by Abhilaksh Verma

In his old wrinkled eyes, I could see the years long gone

Forgotten, faded, overwritten like words, like history

It remains in a bubble, in the garrison of a corner of his mind

Dissolved in the tears, yearning to rake past his cheeks

Hoping the present would stay, as time

Tramples it, untouched for eternity.
