Flint and Stone

Flint and Stone

A Poem by Tuna

This curb is where they make their most enlightened observations

The absurdity of this life can be maddening

Could all of these wandering crowds be searching for happiness

When the awareness has already made joy so apparent

Lay back on the sidewalk to look above the frustration

The clouds will turn grey and beat those who are lost about the head

A standing ovation of thunder will rumble and rise

Wait patiently for the next bolt it comes to reinvigorate the heart

Greater than any atlas or compass it’s beating constant emotion

All creation will begin with a divine spark

The infinite imagination of creativity within the human mind its fuel

Once the fire is lit do not fall victim to the nature of human awe

Be like noble Prometheus and see all the good this flame may bring

Let it dance its way out into the street

To avoid the sweeping gutter we need this warmth to be shared

May my light be yours and together we all will see and be seen
