Prose in February

A Poem by Jodash

Everytime fate brings us closer together, it's like time stands still. I know you realize my intentions are pure
Kindred spirits
Searching for a reason to believe again
To feel again
We dream of a world where we can love freely
For so long I was misguided
Then you came along
You gave me a new desire
A will to live...
Hopefully one day,
I can reciprocate this gift
Now my heart no longer races. But a perfect rhythm like gentle rain on a window. I feel harmony  so I no longer deal with my wicked anxiety. these are just words that are true, so real. Cause a day without you,
is like a thousand years gone by
searching and longing,
faced with the memories
As nights turn into day
Moonlight till morning sun

Lovely soliloquy to your love and muse. Eloquent, honest, touchingly personal words.
Love the style of first-person conversation. Inspiring, uplifting. Kudos!

This feels like a playful & heartfelt message to one's beloved . . . many of your ideas are stated in generalities ("you gave me a new desire") so we don't exactly PICTURE this scene with you. Altho your poem is fine the way it is, I just have a personal preference for using more details & more vivid imagery that includes the senses -- take me on a journey so I can see, hear, feel, smell, & taste what you are experiencing. This isn't a requirement, but it just makes for memorable writing. Your poem is much more compelling & interesting when I got to this part: "Now my heart no longer races . . . " on thru to the end. This is where you are being more specific so I can actually imagine how it feels for you.
