Why do they fear you

motion of pure feline stealth

Love it! I once had a black cat but it disappeared one Halloween night. I try not to think of the worse case scenario… There is something mysterious and beautiful about a black cat. The way they move, the way they groove. :-) Your poem is a wonderful tribute to them.

We have always had cats. Sooty (I know not an original name, but named by my daughter). We had him for 17 years and I was distraught when we had to have him euthanized. Lucky black cat for us. I hope you get more visits. You clearly love cats.

I used to have tuxedo cats with a white chest. I tended to go to those than a pure black one. Great write. I have a dog now. I used to have cats.

It's good that you have a dog. I like them too. My cat, kiki was a calico. She passed away a few years ago. I still miss her.

Yeah, while I always have a million funny thoughts this is a truly wonderful thing about a man and a stray.

Lol it's actually about a neighbours cat that used to come around my patio. Probably wanting to hang out with my cat. This was really inspired about thinking about how cats, particularly black cats are still looked at in a negative manner in some parts of the world. Something that never made sense to me. And then you have the whole Cat people vs Dog people phenomenon... it's funny but irritating sometimes. Would be nice to adopt another one but unfortunately my 12 year old female cat is very territorial and feisty( tho sweet and protective when she wants to be).

Me too. I have other cats, but Ninja is truly missed...4 days now.
I gave him the name, telling him that ha officially had the coolest name of all the cats in the neighborhood. I'll let everyone know when (if) my little guy gets home.
