Inadequacy

A Poem by Alejandro Espinoza

Inadequacy

A poem by Alejandro Manuel Espinoza

This very moment foreshadows a sick future
This dirge of persuasion hearkens it evil upon me
Inadequacy plagues my mind - shattering what they see
For this disease of being flesh - there is no cure

Beyond what the eyes can see - there is a disease settled upon me
In all human eyes - Inadequacy
I am not what you want - and this word becomes me
In all shape and size - I embody Inadequacy

These bludgeons of inadequacy
Efflux with the wrath of the immaculate being
Ignorance personified in flesh - moving and never seeing

I cannot see what you want me to be
I will not be what you want to see

Author's Note

One of my favorites, for its (in my opinion) validity in the description. The rhyme scheme shifts - a little wierd. Not sure if it throws off the poem.
