I Know You

I Know You

A Poem by aftertherain_19

I Know You

Regret has become

The norm and death is

Its rider

Impatiently waiting

Inhibits a carnal mind

Undisciplined of truth

Nowhere to appear for the truth

But here- The dead prays

Dying

Unable to reach for the heavens

Because heavy appetites

Lusts amongst filth

Overt and wicked mindlessness

Reigns pure gold

Where there is no time to succeed;

If there was,

It could not be heard

Nor realized

Reminiscing within the locked

Corridors of darkness

While stale vibrations

From ugly hallways

Stop along the lost, though destructive-

Hearts fend off such troubles

Calming the ache of serenity

And dreading to fix onto a higher plane

Noticing to defeat this

Mighty mimic curse

Is to lose the battle with precision

again and again

Perseverance has hidden itself

From the madness

Soft temperaments’ blow

As the wind in eighty-five degree chills

Proceeding to fail until the Beauty

escapes the laws of gravitation.
