It can’t be love…

What I am feeling toward you,

Not having known you that long

How can I care so much,

Making it hard to breathe

Heart clenching when I

Don’t hear your voice

At least once a day

 

It can’t be love…

Hearing the lilt in your laugh

The joy when you talk of your girls

The excitement when you speak about UT

Or our favorite online game

The subtle, straightforward way

You speak of your interest in me

Despite the differences

 

It can’t be love…

Worrying about you

Wondering how you are doing

After what has transpired

Not knowing what will be

If everything will alright

Missing you terribly

Every day that you are gone

 

It can’t be love…

I think this poem would have more impact if you deleted the last line. It states the obvious, your readers will complete that thought in their own heads when they get to the end. It's a good poem. I like the structure of this piece and your intent is clear.

[THE LOST ROSE]

This poem really hit with me because I just discover that I had feeling for someone that I thought I could just let go. Now time has passed and I realized that was not the right move. I admit I blew happiness. In todays world sometimes that doesn't come to often. Sometimes a poet can write a poem straight from another person's heart. You just did that is why I love your work. I've been in a funk and unable to work on our collab. I am sorry I am working myself out of it.
