depression

depression

A Poem by ahsl33

It’s like being underwater

and everyone has an oxygen tank

but your’s has a hole in it.

you want to scream for help

but you’re scared to lose your oxygen

you stay quiet and nobody notices that something is wrong.

You try to do gestures

hoping someone will notice

but instead it seems like you are looking for attention

how dare you?

They only notice when your oxygen is so low you just lay there,

in exhaustion

never moving.

They assume you’re being lazy

how dare you?

You suddenly start to agree with them and blame yourself

you shouldn’t have broken it

and it doesn’t really make sense

but you know that there is nobody else to blame.

You want to rip your broken oxygen off and throw it away

you wouldn’t be able to breath anymore

but anything is better than the neverending suffocating.
