Bereavement

Bereavement

A Poem by Angelica

With just a push of the finger
A light flickers as the glow lingers
In a darkened dreary room
Of newly once lived bride and groom.

Amidst the trash and clutter
Lay sweet memories that flutter
Like butterflies in the morning sun
Before the horrid day with the gun.

True dismay hit that day
As poor couple tried to run away
From the maniacal murderous creep
Who haunts as I weep.

Never the chance to frolic and dance
As one on this dirt for death came to flirt,
But did much more as they lay dead,
Nevermore on the floor.

Now all that’s left to see seems
But just distant dreams.
