We Drift Deeper Into The Sound

We Drift Deeper Into The Sound

A Poem by Aidan Taylor
"

I wrote this because it's one of my favorite song lyrics from Motorcycle's song "When the Rush Comes." I'm not a big fan of the song but I love the phrase she says in it. I might change it up later.

"

As the music plays our hearing fades

As we drift deeper into the sound

As the music plays the world is slow at pace

As we drift deeper into the sound

Now we are docked at the bay

Headphones plugged in

While the children play

And we drift deeper into the sound

The city is quiet

The streets at peace

As we drift deeper into the sound

I know poetry is meant to mean whatever it is to the person reading, but I would love to have picked your thoughts when you wrote this piece. I have read most of your stuff, just one more to go, and I like the way you draw a reader like myself into the poetry with your thoughtful ideas and more than surface deep words.

About
I'm a young man who loves to write even though I can't write very well. I understand this cruel world as my days go on and I see the true beauty in things as life goes on. I care too much for people.. more..
