Late Night Walk Through the Graveyard

Late Night Walk Through the Graveyard

A Poem by aisling virginia

I make my way slowly through the rows of tombstones
Great slabs of stone, standing ominously just below my waist
I glance around, wary of my surroundings
I'm not even sure why I came this way,
I could have just cut through the field
But now I'm stuck in this haunting graveyard
The cool autumn wind nips at my cheeks
Then all at once, wraps me in it's cold embrace
I tug my meager sweater tighter around my body
As mist starts to swirl around my feet
Why oh why did I come this way?

I like the creepy scene highlighted with a well evoked sense of worry. the imagery is well conceived, a lovely write!

Thank you!
Feels like a good start...why indeed did you come this way. Could be fun to hear the rest...bobc
