Dont belong to you

Dont belong to you

A Poem by Alka

Don’t belong to the lone dark cloud that rides so high , without a reign,

Don’t belong to the house so warm, where every brick sings a song anew,

Don’t belong to the day so bright, where sun shines in every corner of my lost mind,

Don’t belong to the rainbow with various hues, to colour my life with you,

And also  I don’t belong to you.

Don’t belong to the tear that run down your eyes,

Don’t belong to the joy that turns a crooked into a smooth line,

Don’t belong to the pain , that churn your thoughts ,

Don’t belong to magical touch that makes my dark nights few,

And also  I don’t belong to you .

Don’t belong to this road , which doesn’t seem to go nowhere,

Don’t belong to dreams, that you weave,

Don’t belong to the moment , that’s so special and real,

Don’t belong to the breath you hold with lips sealed,

I don’t belong to you.

Thank you so much anindita😊
I really liked this poem.
There is a certain irreverence and confidence which exuberates from the writing. As if you are breaking free from all the shackles that is locking you from within. A certain detachment from all things beautiful and ugly so that we are truly free to be ourselves and accept whatever that comes our way.

It also had the angst and the pain of not belonging there too
