The It's Alright Lullaby For Tragic Poets~

A Poem by alan peter kelly

she gently painted
a hole in my torso...
exposed
surprised
my cold
defeated biology
immediately warmed
making room
for her
to climb inside

he pulled me apart
with tentative passion
pinned my stained glass skin
to a point of pain
above his heart
we broke illuminating eucharist
found comfort in the wounds
stitched
paired
tragic
beautiful

well damn...first of all i like the "he said/she said" of this...love the references to the mass..the eucharistic idea...the passion, the biology...that physical union, and yet the spirituality of two bodes bonding...like Jesus, saying "take my body....take my blood" again, really like the religious references, of course, from my catholic background.

really strong piece,

j.

Love this! Emotion filled and paints a picture in your mind. I love how it tango's with love and the pain that comes with letting someone inside!

Rapture is at times an exquisite pain. Unconditional, transcendent, it is sacred. We break the body, the eucharist, feed it to one another, then share our blood.
This is simply exqisuisite, so good is hurts.
