falling slowly

falling slowly

A Poem by alice3wonderland

I'm drowning

slowly floating into the depths of a dark mind

I stretch out my arms reaching for anything to pull me back to give me the life I once had

I'm grappling for answers to questions I haven't yet asked

I needed a break

I needed a release

I needed you

I thought about leaving

I packed my bag

I locked the door

But then I turned around...

You looked at me with those deep blue eyes

I fell in and now there's no way out

I can't fee the bottom

Just endlessly falling

Slowly...

It doesn't suck. It's just a first draft, maybe.

NOTES:
Maybe this could be two or three lines in the poem:
"I stretch out my arms reaching for anything to pull me back to give me the life I once had"

Instead, something like this:
I stretch out my arms reaching for anything
[Anything] to pull me back
[Anything] to give me the life I once had

Correction: "I can't [feel] the bottom:

Ain't that bad. Every heard of the song. "Should I stay or should I go"? You said enough to create thoughts and reaction. All of us will fall in some way. Most of us need a soft place to land. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
