Alive

Alive

A Poem by Alisa Js

the images hung in mid-air
frozen.
suspended.
stuck somewhere between thought and execution
like a treasured landscape from eons long past and thought forgotten
flashing in glimpses, sparking your neurons
and for a brief moment you feel the laughter brim
in that harbor that was once your heart,
love abounds
and you are there, as time stops
on days like these when whispers remember
daffodils scream and butterflies curse...

'Alive'
Alisa Js,
As the title 'Alive' states we are then given time
within days and the memories start coming.
Opening three lines speak to this essence of
being human.
'the images hung in mid-air
frozen.
suspended.'
This poem ponders life and emotion within
a caring mind and heart.
Last three lines:
'and you are there, as time stops
on days like these when whispers remember
daffodils scream and butterflies curse...'
Quite an ending. Things which are left undone
or did not seem right can color beauty in shadow
and peace just seems to flee.
Blessings,
Kathy

~ haha... perfection... utter perfection... this is probably one of my top three by you... and no, you cannot ask me which the other two are... :P ~ this piece is life personified... spectacularly written... and that last line is to die for... you're an unstoppable genius... in my humble opinion of course...

Hello Jacob,

Yes, you are 'spot on' as they say 'down under'. This one was indeed inspired by a memory so sweet and now, relegated to the back burner of the mind.

Thanks for stopping by.

i think you feel the laughter of a time passed...of a love in the past...when there where smiles and whispers of love...but now the daffodils scream and butterflies curse and love is only the memory...no longer the execution (meaning the carrying out of the feelings)

they were somehow drained.

the wording is quite good in this piece.

You had me at "Alive" ... The captivating title led into so many great lines.
Images hung in mid-air..."stuck somewhere between thought and execution like a treasured landscape from eons long past...
I can actually see the words, the images suspended like life form caught frozen mid-motion in a huge glacier.
And then the last line... I love the imagery of the daffodils and butterflies. This is a wonderful poem Alisa!

Now THIS is a love poem I can get sink my wings and fangs into. You have grown and entered a new arena with a new blessed brush...I am astounded at the depth of this one. It reminds me of a surreal or Dali, maybe a turn of the century Parisian moment ..a picture turned sepia or black in white...The time slows as two souls cross in a distant land but some familiar courtyard. They do not recognize each other but the moment does and somewhere in the ether a scream lets loose into the perfect poet song. A frame well built HAwaii...Welcome back !!! Your dance has gained a well earned pair of new shoes...or maybe I've just donned new glasses..lol.
