I wanted this to last 

late night talks, laughter till noon 

the fascinating sense of time standing still 

whenever we appeared 

I need to remember 

you. 

for the rest of my days 

and endless nights, too 

we were like sugar and sassafras 

mischief and licorice sticks, 

obliviously entranced and mystically matched 

no one else mattered, not that we cared. 

for all we could see was  

us...

Wow Alisa!
I experienced that 'world shrinking' and being the only two in existence once - just once in my life (repeatedly when I was with this woman) and even though she and I are estranged now, I love, just love that I was able to experience it.
You nailed that feeling, that super-charged feel of being the only two in the world so well here.
