Beautiful.

Beautiful.

A Poem by Tinotenda Nyevedzanai
"

Poem - ATC

"
When I was seven I was an inquisitive child

With big ears and an even bigger mouth.

I would question everything around me,

I knew best without a doubt.

"Do you want your ears pinned back?" My mummy offered kindly,

"What's that mean?" I asked her, ever so curiously

she described to me it meant surgery

Like the pain of when they stole my tonsils.

I was shocked.

"All for the sake of beauty?

  - Mum but I like the way I look."

Thank you for this read request. Women do many things for the sake of beauty. What ever happen to natural beauty? Because nature is the most beautiful thing in the world, and it's all natural. Even so I think your a wonderful poet, and encourage you to keep writing.

lovely stuff Ally, a reflection on your childhood and upon the way of today when people feel they need to improve their looks, the sad reflection of society as it has become, :)

Thank you Emily :)
I liked this post. It reminded me of a discussion I was having the other night about Botox. Why would I inject my face with poisons, just to make my cheeks look nice..

The wonderful world of societal pressures... Nice childlike view of the craziness of these procedures.
Wonderful job Ally!

Thank you so much Ashley :)
What is beauty anyways. Is it a natural occurrence due to our growth as a human race to define it via years of living on this planet or is it something defined by the attraction of society trying to make us follow it. Maybe its just a word to describe something you like and if so I liked this poem. It was wonderful.

Thank you, beauty is finding an attraction in something.
It takes so much courage to accept ourselves for who we are and not cave in to who society expects us to be, or look like. Great message ATC.

You're welcome!
I liked the ending .
Beauty is what that come from inside, no outer beauty is worthy than the purity of inner soul.
