Have you ever had your faith tested?

- Even after you lost everything?

All of what you have ever cared for,

everything you've ever lived towards.

Morality rests a bit as you consider evil sins.

I wonder if testing faith could strengthen your beliefs?

Or if you'd give in to temptation a radical attempt

at doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons?

Love leaving your veins ever stronger than never before

Ripping at your soul, a raw gore of cold flesh

Ready to take the breath of those demonic messed up

guests of death that shook you awake, left you lonely

The Theft -

The taking of your family. 

I've always been a man of God, my trust I understood to do

what is good for mankind, for the Earth. 

What they have instructed me to do would hurt millions,

Untold destruction for the sake of greed no my mistake

would be saving my family.

They will kill them.

Murder as a threat, a blackmail for money stolen in a crime

so fierce so grime so piercing it's even worse to imagine

the consequence if you could understand the would-be sequence of events?

My little girl, with the gap toothed smile and two left feet

that refuses to eat carrots "That's for Reindeer" so sweet, so innocent. 

My wonderful wife the unconditional cook, the witch of the kitchen always stirring up a 

new brew a new invention the unconventional scientist for food.

None of it tasted good of course. Still I would miss the "soup". 

Dialing wiped the smiling from my face forever. 

The word that would sever my girls,

Shatter my world. 

"Yes?" After only two rings of the nearby payphone

the greedy evil deeded mutt was waiting for the...

"No." He hung up and that finished it all.

I walked home alone not even God shadowed my sorrow,

There would be no burnt breakfast, no school run tomorrow. 

Author's Note

Challenge- Family taken hostage blackmailed to commit murder even though the character is deeply religious and it's against their beliefs to save his families lives.
