Footsteps of Memory

Footsteps of Memory

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

For Emmajoy

"

Footsteps of Memory

She spoke of heaven in many ways
the violin air swept through her meaning
kneeling in humbleness tears tumbled
from the sky
I could kiss all your futures
All your kindness
See a little tickle in your smile
How could you not love her arms around you
How could you ever stop crying for the loss
Melting into her memory
Falling into one organism then another
He died on the footsteps of memory.

That's so very beautiful. Reaching for a tissue. Pausing.

To be given such an unexpected, comforting and understanding gift is more than rare these days.

Many thank yous, Al.. truly, thank you.
