Lips in the Opera

Lips in the Opera

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

sing of praise

"

Lips in the Opera

in the striking of the fuse

the opera sings itself out of the universe

many follow its lead

but are left on the edge of the bubble

feeling abandoned from the seed

as pinpricks needle the surface

a sound envelopes the our sound

we are gathered here together

where up and down lose their grip

we find a prayer that answers

all the misgivings coming from lips.
