taller than me

taller than me

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

kingdom of boyhood

"

taller than me

lines in new horizons

a troublesome peek

that lived inside of me

a stood a mile above my own eyes

sinking into the peek(dom) of little boy’s skies

there in an October morn

witnessed by a magical tree

i stood that day taller than me.

Your whimsical poem tells this story in a way that I don’t completely follow (I’m not good at whimsical), but I love the idea of writing a poem about tallness from a little boy’s point of view. I remember in my childhood home how important it was to measure everyone’s heights (9 kids) on a regular basis. There was something inherently BETTER about being tall instead of short. Who made up that rule anyway? You have an absolutely magical & imaginative way of addressing life’s everyday issues! (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

I remember Pip my imaginary friend long before I had any real friends.

Thanks Jacob!
