53. Megan's Second Heart

*In Salt Lake City, Utah*

 

*Prentiss, Reid and I are waiting outside of the hospital rooms. We’re waiting for the okay to see Megan and Gideon. Finally, one of the nurses comes out of the room. It’s a double room, where they’ve put both Megan AND Gideon*

 

Nurse #1: You can see them now.

 

Me: *pushes past her and bursts through the door* MEGAN!

 

Megan: *is sitting up on the bed* Ow… Why does my head hurt so much?

 

Me: Wow, ha. Good to see you’re back to normal.

 

Megan: I wasn’t normal?

 

Me: *looks up at the ultrasound-thing* Wow, how did you do that?

 

Megan: Do what?

 

Me: Hide your second heart.

 

Megan: But I… Didn’t.

 

Me: See? *points*

 

Megan: But… How is that possible?!

 

Me: What?

 

Megan: MY SECOND HEART IS GONE!!

 

*Reid and Prentiss run over at the commotion. Gideon is still out cold*

 

Reid: You second WHAT is gone?

 

Megan: *begins to hyperventilate*

 

Me: Her nothing!

 

Prentiss: It’s not nothing.

 

Reid: Please, you can tell us.

 

Prentiss: We can tell there’s something wrong with Megan. Something you haven’t been telling us.

 

Me: Well…

 

Megan: My… Second… Heart…

 

Prentiss: Wait… She has a second heart?

 

Me: Don’t tell Mulder… she’s an alien.

 

Prentiss: But… aliens don’t exist!

 

Me: She does. *points to Megan* As is the Doctor. They’re both aliens called Time Lords. They’re from Gallifrey, they have two hearts each, and they have a complex--

 

Prentiss: Seriously?

 

Me: Yes.

 

Megan: My. SECOND. HEART. IS. GONE.

 

Me: WE HEARD!

 

Gideon: *wakes up* Ow!

 

Prentiss, Reid and I: *rush over*

 

Me: What’s wrong?!

 

Gideon: *points to the screen* I HAVE TWO HEARTS!!

 

Prentiss, Reid and I: … *gives one another nervous glances*
