Microsopic Eye

Microsopic Eye

A Poem by Sarah Roehrig
"

A sadness crept over me. Now it is free. Enjoy

"
Separate me from all else,
In hopes my shadow will only haunt me

An anxious mind filled with solitude,
My greatest contribution being this fear

Slide me under your microscopic eye,
Allow your hands to run freely over mine

I know what you see, for I have felt your sick judgment for quite some time
I have tasted the artistry - the dexterity within your demise

I have been silenced one again,
I failed to become someone else

My voice has torn a whole wide enough for the soul to slip through,
You say this isn't for you, but for my own admiration

My fault has become an ill-stricken rhyme

A bird just learning to fly,
Tainted, with only the melody of goodbye.
