Alchemy Eyes

Alchemy Eyes

A Poem by Sarah Roehrig

Your alchemy eyes possess my thwarted soul; taking me over ruptured glaciers
Ice melting this pure, divine spirit
Capturing me - knocking me - fractured skulls

I fall into you, but you are gone with the wind, sending me deeper into rage and fury
I saw angels play, when the devil left me in May
I yell a majestic song - howling at the waning moon you left

I crawl back into the huntress cave, walking backwards, waiting for night to set me free
I feel you shearing my skin, Razor sharp as your hands turn into clover-crimson
Her love was as tall as the highest hills one could ever roam; the place I made her shadow my home
