THE NIGHTMARE

THE NIGHTMARE

A Poem by andrew mitchell

You're ready to sleep
As the night rolls in
Immersed in darkness
The nightmare begins.
Your inside world,disrupted
The nightmare starts within
Corrupting all your senses
The haunting now begins.
Taking hold of your senses
Turning them upside down
Your body is turning and tossing
The nightmare enjoys your surrounds.
Turning, tossing
Twisting your mind
The nightmare takes hold
The usual tell tale signs.
You try to run
You cannot hide
There's no escape
Until the sunrise.
But when the sun meets the horizon
The nightmare slowly withdraws
Your eyes are now opening
Reality is at your door.
You see the light of day
Peace of mind is by your side
The night is now behind you
The nightmare's in decline
              -------------- until the next time.

I don't dream nightmares. I dream worst. Work haunt my dreams.
"The night is now behind you
The nightmare's in decline
-------------- until the next time."
Awaken from a work dream can mean back to work. I enjoyed the poem. The good description led the reader to the happiness of awakening. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
