I was backpacking in Vancouver many years ago and I saw this statement written as graffiti on a bridge wall and thought this was quite profound and has stuck with me ever since

Can you ear the voices in the noises around you? Just barely make out the mumble? Are they talking about you, Andrew? Do you see their eyes and know their thoughts?
