The Games!

The Games!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

She was a trivial pursuit
Which lead to a mouse trap.
Followed by snakes and ladders
Soon, became a monopoly.

She took my knight
I took her castle
Checkmate!
She then gave me a straight flush
I had four aces.

After a hop, skip and a jump
I put her pieces together, jigsaw.
In the end we had a crossword
Game over!

I was shot putt
I wanted to scrabble
She crossed the bridge
It just wasn't cricket!

that last line is so Aussie - I dunno who would get the reference besides me - love it - did you both end up building tall castles and get jenga'd out - or perhaps it was time for a bit of nudey 'Opeeration' - love this - very clever my friend X

Thank you Jamestown:)
very clever use of the games to examine the different levels of a relationship---when it comes down to it, we can all be little mice trapped in a maze, trying to find a way out, once we find the cheese put before us was only to tempt us, not to keep us with love.
