Debauchery around the table!

Debauchery around the table!

A Poem by andrew mitchell
"

Do not read if easily offended, you need an ounce of humour!!!!!!

"
As the knights gathered
around the table,
debauchery.
King Arthur, King Drinkalot
sent all his knights in the quest of
" it doesn't matter!"
Sir Lurkalot (unknown) prodded.
Sir Lie-and-all (Lionel) could not find the truth.
Sir Lunchalot ( Lancelot) nibbled on the
Queen Guinevere, Queen spread-a lot!
Sir Bores(bors) lost out
in maidens fair
such a bore!
While Sir poke-a-lot (Percival)
found the Holy Grail
he persevered.
Sir Glad-I-had (Galahad)
left with a smile,
five maidens he had, waved.
More-Dread ( Mordred) was not amused
in search of the Holy Nail
Such debauchery lies
in the castle Came-a-lot.
In the end,
debauchery lies
under the dress,
her holy grail.

Well, that's one quirky way of looking at history!
Fun, funny, satirical, with just a touch of debauchery!
Who could ask for more?

Witty as ever!

Another well written piece, very intelligent and humorous in its theme and content.

You never fail to produce a funny poem for the masses on this site, when so much of the poetry is deep and melancholic.
Keep them coming!

thank you doodley for your kind words. i try! lol
BAHAHAHA... this is absurdly funny, in that keen smirking, super intelligent way. It's like you had Monty Python whispering in one ear, Jon Stewart in the other.
Love this to pieces!

HA !! Graham Chapman would be proud ! I gotta wonder if this is what Dan Brown had in mind when he was describing the chalice.
Excellent humor .

What a sharp diatribe this is on Medieval decadence! I enjoyed the play of words and the homo-phonic entendres. It is a ravishing read, and puts you at par with the Wits.

Thank you for sharing. I am bookmarking this particular one as I see myself going back to it again and again.

Best, M.

Thank you so much for your great review Malika :)
This is so clever that I just automatically take it for granted that all the names are correct, as it is much easier than actual research. If not, it sounds way believable anyway. Nice twist in the last line. :)
