Rippled thoughts travel in the big pond of verse.

Rippled thoughts travel in the big pond of verse.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Black stone skips
sapphire blues
ripples spread
oceanic thoughts
on waves of ink
covering verse
rhythmically,
diminishing
text drowns

a pond waits....
active minds
frenzied writes
crowd hungers
reviews  thrill
maddening rush
onslaught battles
wills broken
thanks given
compliments read
all is still
the big fish fed

a small write fading....
thrown
gone

no bites today.

Love this Andrew! Great metaphor and imagery. The pond can be both welcoming and rejecting. So many feelings are affected. Great flow, form, impactful minimalism. Let’s hope we can all keep swimming- ha! Excellent!

this is a gorgeous write,
that conjures up images of serenity, one drifting down streams, pondering, inhaling inspiration from solitude and the beauty of nature

i adore every word you used and how you used them.
