Cellophane thinking!

Cellophane thinking!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Who wraps the heart
in cellophane red
only to hear it crinkle?
Tear open this sheath,
bring down the wall
love is in the air tonight.
Settling down
on rose petal thoughts
the path to remember
waits.
But unrequited love
speaks of no desire
while littered
is the sacrificial lamb
of one true love
squeezed, gutted,
spilt for all to see,
wasted.
