Death, the final frontier.

Death, the final frontier.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Death, the final frontier.
They come as many,
the slow death,
the accidental death,
the unexpected death,
the agonizing death,
the quick death,
the suicidal death,
the peaceful death
and everyone’s favourite
death in one’s sleep.
All of which we have
no control of and
we don’t get to choose,
unless you are taken
to the vet.

Very truthful words, Andrew......

There is also sporting fan death when your football team concedes a goal in the final moments of a game!

This also speaks to me on the current one-sided argument against legally assisted suicide. For in such a moment one does have the choice to choose their final fate. Time will tell if we as individuals will ever be allowed that choice.

A fine piece.

Thank you Doodley, too kind.
Death happens every day somewhere. The rash of public suicides makes me think of a friend who took his life. We can only hope death won't come soon. I like the last line. :)

Thank you Relic I agree.
You are right my friend. Unless you live in Oregon. This state had volunteer suicide. Thank you Andrew for sharing the excellent poetry.
