The fall of Toad Hall.

The fall of Toad Hall.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Through the wind
in the willows
I came across Toad Hall.
While Toad was away
I bulldozed his home
after I ransacked it.
I killed the animals as game,
I cleared the lands of trees,
I poisoned the soil
leaving my rubbish behind,
I polluted the waters nearby.
I altered the story,
I controlled the change.
It was time to move on
from this inhabitable land
for I was.... Man
and Man does
what he does.

First I read Cassie (below) & your reply . . . then I read your poem . . . & I know you know the dissonance I felt. This is funny, only in the sense that I laugh so hard I'm crying at the horrifying truth of your message. I've always hated the self-righteous way humans think everything belongs to us. I've never heard anyone express it as venomously as I sometimes feel it. Thanks for scratching this itch (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
