Officer! I've been burgled!A Poem by andrew mitchell
Police! I like to report a robbery.
Yes Sir. What are the details? Someone, a thief no doubt has broken into my house, and I have been burgled. What seems to be missing Sir? All my life I have collected debts and I have worked very hard to accumulate these such debts, and now.... they have all been stolen. That's outrageous Sir? Can you be more specific? Officer, I had substantial debts on my cards, my loans, my ex's, kids expenditures, holidays, my interests, tax debts, and now.... I find they are all gone. Anything else missing Sir? Yes! I don't have any worries anymore. They have all disappeared, gone! Stolen, no doubt! Yes! Anything else, you can think of? Yes! Come to think of it, I don't feel anxious or have any fears anymore. They too, have been stolen. That's terrible Sir! That's just it! I don't feel terrible. Is that all? No! I feel joy and happiness. The robber must have left his emotions behind at the scene. I feel most violated with all this positivity! This is horrific Sir! I know! I now have zero debts! Cleaned out good and proper I am. I am ruined I tell you, ruined! What a rotter Sir! You can say that again! What a rotter Sir! Yes! Who would do such a thing! Exactly! Exactly! © 2019 andrew mitchell |
