If you’re trying to be skinny
Look at the children starved thin

Is that what you want?

If you think it’s cool to be the mean girl
Look at what bullying has caused

Is that who you are?

If you just want to be popular
Look at the girls with no true friends

Is it worth losing them all?

If you’d rather be on a date on family night
Look at who will leave, and who will stay forever

Do you want to shut them out?

If you’re complaining about homework
Look at those who wish they were in school
Who have no education

Is that what you want?

When you go to criticize others
Look at yourself

What makes you better?

When you turn your back on a friend
Look at those who did it to you

Is that what you want others to feel?

When you don’t appreciate what you have
You lose happiness
Someone always has it worse
So who are you to be so selfish
When all you have to do is just look

Author's Note

I think this came from me needing to hear some of these things...And I think there are people out there who might need to as well. I'm not implying that that means you, or everyone. Honest, hard criticism on this please.

This is so very true, and people can be so blinded by their own desires, it's a shame that nothing will ever be enough for them. 'Greed will always greed for more, no matter how much you give.' speech worthy.
