sometimes it isn't distance that separates us.

We sit, knees almost touching
on a couch
we picked out together
a million miles
a million lies
a million angry fictions
a million hurts
a million strangled desires
a million
wouldas
couldas
shouldas
In the two inch gap
between us
on that
damned
ugly
couch
